Chocolate Chia Pudding
When you are craving sweet, and craving chocolate...give this a whirl!
Course Snack
Cuisine American
1 Pint-sized Mason Jar (Or really any glass bowl with a lid!)
Spoon for stirring (I use a teeny-little whisk!)
Measuring spoons and cups (If you like to measure!)
Main Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Milk of your choice
- 2 Tablespoons Chia Seeds
- 1-2 Teaspoon(s) Cacao Powder
- 1-2 Teaspoons Maple Syrup or Honey (This is just to sweeten things up a bit! You can totally leave this out or use a different sweetener if you would like!)
Topping Ideas
- Fresh Berries (When raspberries are in season, that is go to for me!)
- Chopped/Sliced Almonds
- Coconut Butter (This is a fun little add! Add just a little of the shavings to the top!)
- Cacao Nibs (For a little more chocolate and crunch - this could be a good add!)
- Goji Berries (Sometimes, the fresh fruit isn't available. I usually have some Goji Berries on hand, so I will toss a tablespoon in!)
- Sliced Banana
Add 1/2 cup milk of your choice to your container, along with Cacao Powder, Sweetener of choice (if using), and Chia Seeds.
Mix well!
Let the mixture sit for a few minutes and mix again!
Cover and let sit in the fridge for at least a couple hours - overnight is best!
When ready to eat, stir and add more milk if you need/want.
Add a couple of your toppings! (Preferably a fruit/berry to add that carbohydrate to the mix!)
Enjoy!
I say this with all of my recipes, I AM NOT A CHEF or A BAKER! I despise measuring. I add an ingredient until my heart is satisfied...then, I add a little more! I do my best to share the measurements that work for these recipes, but you may have to tweak them a bit to your liking!
Same goes for the toppings on this Chia Pudding, add what sounds good to YOU! Add what YOUR body is calling for. As I mention in the recipe, try and add a carbohydrate, like some berries, to balance things out a bit. Otherwise, experiment and see what feels good to YOU!
Enjoy!
